(1902-1977)
   sociologist
   Born in Paris, Georges Friedmann, as a sociologist, addressed in his writings the question of the dehumanizing nature of the organization of work in industrial societies (Problèmes humains du machinisme industriel, 1947; Où va le travail humain?, 1950; Le Travail en miettes, 1956). Friedmann also wrote a sociological study of the Jewish community, La Fin du peuple juif? (1966), as well as reflections on the future of moral and philosophical order in civilization (La Puissance et la Sagesse, 1971).
